Are you passionate about startups, market data and the future of the chemical industry? Then help us to analyse, make visible and further develop the ecosystem for chemical startups in Germany and Europe. As Manager Startup Research & Intelligence (m/f/d), you will be our expert for systematic analyses and in-depth studies on topics like financing trends, infrastructures needs and cooperation structures with established companies. Your goal will be to generate actionable insights that influence our strategy, shape policy and strengthen the startup ecosystem across the chemical industry.

Your Responsibilities:

Market & Ecosystem analyses:

  • Conceptualize, implement and prepare studies, reports and briefings on the chemical startup ecosystem
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research on topics such as financing, infrastructure, cooperation, regulation and funding
  • Develop new formats for knowledge transfer (e.g. landscape reports, white papers, briefings)

Translate insights into actionable strategies:

  • Derive recommendations for action for chemstars and our partners from industry & politics
  • Identify whitespace and growth areas in the ecosystem
  • Support funding applications or strategy development through data & arguments

Network & communication:

  • Collaborate with startups, investors, corporates, hubs and research institutions
  • Build and maintain databases & contacts with relevant stakeholders
  • Present findings in workshops, pitches and events (online or in-person)

This is you:

  • A degree in business, natural sciences, politics or related fields. A doctorate is a plus
  • 1-3 years of relevant professional experience, e.g. in market analysis, innovation, consulting or research
  • Experience in researching and creating structured analyses, reports or studies
  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong process orientation, and a proactive mindset
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills - you can turn complex data into actionable insights
  • Proficient English and German communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively
  • Interest in startups, innovation, the chemical industry and sustainability
